G. Rosa-Rey (b. Isabela, Puerto Rico) is a Brooklyn, New York-based visual artist. Rosa-Rey and her family migrated from Puerto Rico to Hartford, Connecticut, in the late 1950s. In the early 1970s she relocated to New York City to pursue fine art at Pratt Institute, where she studied with Ernest Briggs, a Second Generation Abstract Expressionist painter who became her mentor. She continued her graduate studies in the same field at Columbia University School of the Arts. Her first solo show, Region in the Mind: Terrenos y Cuentos, was presented in 2023 at Hidrante in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Rosa-Rey has also exhibited at various institutions including the Latinx Project at NYU and Smack Mellon.
